The Portal We All Carry
The Ancestral Portal Jewellery Story
There are things we carry without quite knowing it.
A gesture that feels older than us, passed down from somewhere further back than memory.
The Ancestral Portal Collection was one of Elena's first designs, and it's quietly become one of the most coveted. Perhaps because it speaks to something so many of us feel, even if we've never quite put words to it.
For Elena, that thread leads back to her grandmother. They share a name. Over the years, she noticed the resemblance went deeper than a name, a mannerism here, a way of carrying herself there, familiar in a way she couldn't quite explain. Proof that we are shaped, quite literally, by what came before us.
That's how the collection began. Not an exact a plan. A quiet instinct, that she had been carrying her grandmother with her all along, in ways she'd only just started to realise. Something close to an awakening, a sense that the connection between them had never really closed.
The shape of the pieces reflects that. It's drawn from the earliest key ever made, an arch resting over a square. The arch, a passage, the movement between generations. The square, a foundation, something steady beneath it all. Together, a way in.
Most of us carry a current like this too, one that was never explained to us, only felt.
Few of us have an everyday way to stay close to it. A photograph sits on a shelf. A memory softens a little more each year. The Ancestral Portal was made to be worn instead, a piece that meets you in the middle of an ordinary day, not only on the days that are meant to be remembered.
It also makes one of the most considered gifts you could give, for a new beginning, a loss, a birth, any moment that marks the space between generations.
Three pieces. The necklace, designed to be close to throat so you can always speak with wisdom. The ring, on the hand so you can always be reminded to be kind to yourself and others. And the bracelet, to remind the wearer of the passage of time.
Designed in Recycled Sterling Silver and 24kt 3 micron plate.
As inspired by the seven words for love in the Greek Language, the Ancestral Portal Collection speaks of Familial love. Storge (στοργή) Def: familial love
